Description
Residential block development, including rectification of defined fire compartmentation breaches and repairs to non compliant fire doors.
Challenge
Senate was approached to provide commercial support services on an existing project that was in financial difficulty between the contractor and the trade contractors.
Goal
Senate was engaged to act as the Quantity Surveyor on behalf of their client for contract administration and quantity surveying functions, between the Employer and the Main Contractor. Our responsibilities included tendering, contract negotiations, contract award, and post contract, valuing the works as they progressed, assessing variations and change, including remeasurements, cost reporting and concluding the final account.
Senate provided cost control, reporting, measurement and commercial advice throughout the duration of the project, ensuring value for money was achieved in delivering the fire remediation works
Outcome
The project concluded with a successfully agreed Final Account that delivered significant savings for their client, reducing the contract sum from £485,000.00 to £379,000.00.
