Description
Senate was appointed as the Commercial Manager on behalf of their client, undertaking duties that covered Sub-Contract administration, full quantity surveying, and comprehensive commercial management. Working in close liaison with the Employer’s Agent and the Main Contractor, our involvement spanned the entire project lifecycle. Initially, this included tendering processes, contract negotiations, and contract award. Subsequently, our post-contract work involved valuing progress, assessing variations and changes (incorporating re-measurements), performing cost reporting, and finalising the project account.
Challenge
To replace the existing curtain wall with a new system, whilst the ground floor showroom and the offices remained occupied.
Goal
Document and assure, through robust QAQC processes, a fully compliant replacement curtain wall system.
Outcome
The project, a particularly tricky undertaking where the original scope grew exponentially due to issues uncovered, concluded with a successfully agreed Final Account. The project was completed on time, with the client and contract administrator being entirely satisfied, such that repeat business is underway.
